NOSE BUMPS

If you have bumps on your nose, a Dorsal hump nose treatment may be the solution to help you balance your face’s proportions. We understand that nose irregularities around the nose bridge are common in both men and women of all ages.
WHAT ARE NOSE BUMPS?
Nose bumps, also known as dorsal humps, are cartilage and bone irregularities on the nose. These types of distortions can cause a ‘hump’ to appear at the bridge of the nose and alter a person’s face outline. While dorsal humps are not harmful, some people may be self-conscious about the condition and seek cosmetic surgery for dorsal hump removal.
WHAT CAUSES DORSAL HUMPS?
There are several causes of nose bumps:
• A nose bump can form naturally due to genetics if your family has a history of nose bumps that developed over time.
• Caused by an injury, such as breaking the noise, and irregular healing
• Other nose trauma can result in bone growth and calcium deposits.
• Previous nose surgery that was not properly healed
HOW CAN NOSE BUMPS BE TREATED?
NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY
Compared to a traditional nose job, a non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure is non-invasive and generally faster. Dermal fillers are placed in the parts of the nose where the dorsal hump is present. The dermal filler helps to camouflage the nose bump, straighten the bridge of the nose and slim down the overall appearance of the nose. More cost-effective than other rhinoplasty methods, a non-surgical nose job requires little recovery time, and you can carry on with your day after the non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure is completed.
RHINOPLASTY
On the other hand a rhinoplasty, also known as an open nose job, is a surgical procedure that involves anaesthetic. This surgeon makes an incision in the nose to reveal the bone underneath the skin. Then, the surgeon reshapes the nose, which may involve breaking and resetting the bone to improve the shape. Once the rhinoplasty procedure is completed, the nose is covered in a splint and recovery time may take up to three weeks.
CLOSED RHINOPLASTY
A closed rhinoplasty procedure is another surgical process where anaesthetic is required. A surgeon works beneath the nostrils to alter cartilage and remove a dorsal hump. Compared to an open nose job, the recovery time is lessened, with an expectation of 1 – 2 weeks.
