Polynucleotide Treatment

Polynucleotides comprise long chains of nucleotides such as RNA and DNA. The strands, called polynucleotides, are the building blocks of these molecules. Yes, both Nucledyn and Ameela are the same treatment – not to confuse individuals who are trying to search for one or the other! Ameela® is now the rebranded name for the injectable treatment. So whilst there was a change of name, the core product remains the same. 

The most common areas that can be treated with Ameela Polynucolotides are:

• Face
• Neck
• Hands
• Hair

With those areas in mind, Ameela® can treat areas on the face including under-eye bags or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment can also be applied around the neck area for patients who suffer from loose skin and want a more uplifting look by improving the firmness of the neck.

Additionally, Ameela collagen treatment can also be used on hands to further improve skin textures and ageing. Areas with high skin laxity respond great with Ameela® treatment such as the eyelids and eyebags.

As with any procedure, it’s important to understand the recovery process. Patients may experience typical side effects following Ameela treatment including:

• Redness
• Swelling or bruising 
• Irritation at the area of treatment
• In rare cases, allergic reactions or infections may occur. 

Side effects with Ameela treatment are generally mild and temporary and in most instances do not interfere with a patient’s day-to-day life.  Patients should always disclose any pre-existing skin conditions or allergies with Dr Ahmed during the consultation process. It’s important to be transparent so that we can provide the best advice and plan going forward before your treatment.

While side effects are typically minimal with Ameela®, there is some typical advisory downtime that generally subsides within 1 to 3 days to allow the body to recuperate. It’s important to note that downtime will vary depending on individual response to the treatment and some may experience longer symptoms than others. 

Generally, Ameela treatment is minimally disruptive which makes for a convenient option for those seeking treatment with little to no downtime!
