HOW CAN STRETCH MARKS BE TREATED?

Microneedling

An effective stretch marks treatment involves microneedling, a procedure that stimulates the production of new collagen.

This process works by needles pricking the dermis, the middle layer of skin where stretch marks appear. The procedure encourages skin regeneration, causing red streaks and marks to fade overtime.

Depending on the severity of the stretch marks, more than one microneedling session may be required and each procedure is short and requires minimal recovery time.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is another treatment option for getting rid of stretch marks. In this procedure, the epidermis (upper layer of skin) is sprayed with exfoliating crystals or a device is rubbed across the area.

The crystals are gently removed and peel away any dead skin, which encourages collagen production.

Topical creams

A non-surgical method of stretch mark treatment, topical lotions and creams may help to soothe affected areas. It’s important to research the ingredients that are used in the gel and be aware that different lotions will vary in their results.

If you’re unsure of a certain product, then we’d recommend speaking to a skincare specialist to help determine what kind of fat dissolving treatment would work best for you.
